That is why we have tried to think of everything, to make this a wonderful experience for you. Our lodge is all-inclusive, with no hidden expenses. We are aware that most of our guest travel from out of the country and so we will help you in any way we can – just ask! Please see the below sections for our most frequently asked topics.
We understand determining a trophy score can be challenging and we can help! At Hartland, your guide will ensure you are satisfied with the size and price before a shot is taken. Of course, it is ultimately your decision to take an animal. If you take a larger trophy than what was originally contracted, we charge no additional fee.
All SCI measurements are made by our qualified SCI master measurer.
We allow you to use your own guns or we also provide them. They are available for a fee of $50 USD per hunter.
If you are coming from outside of Canada and are bringing your own gun, a permit is required (cost is $25 CAD). It is recommended that the permit be completed beforehand, however it can be filled out at the airport when you land. You can have up to three firearms on one permit.
We do not teach shooting at Hartland, so it is expected that you have some hunting and shooting knowledge. We have a shooting range, where you can check your gun before going on the hunt.
Visit www.cfc-cafc.gc.ca or call 1-800-731-4000 to complete the firearms permit.
Please note a valid Canadian passport is required to cross the border.
Please be aware that any criminal charges may prevent you from entering the country, until matters have been resolved. This may include small misdemeanours.

All meals and snacks are provided. The menu is fixed in advance but alterations can be made to accommodate allergies and intolerances. Our menu is also flexible, allowing guests to eat food freshly hunted.
The best time to hunt is in the mornings and evenings. The afternoons are free time for you to do whatever you’d like! Except in situations where time is running out. We have excellent Internet, allowing you to stay connected.
Our cancellation policy is one of the best in the industry. All funds paid are transferable to the next season if 90 days notice prior to hunt is given, if less than 90 days notice is given, deposits are non-refundable unless a replacement hunter can be arranged for by the client.
The typical stay is five days, however in the rare case that the hunt has been unsuccessful, we will extend it a day.
